Once again Elly Griffiths has written an immensely enjoyable thriller, set in beautiful Norfolk and featuring the well loved cast of characters in another riveting adventure. I couldn’t put it down until the last page, which always seems to come too soon! This series is constantly fascinating. Well worth the price of admission.The characters are well written, the plot lines will keep you guessing, and in spite of the obvious danger-- these are after all murder mysteries-- you can't help but want to join in the action.Though, I could skip being a passenger in any car driven by DCI Harry Nelson. Nor would I wish to spend hours meticulously unearthing bodies from their makeshift graves with Dr. Ruth Galloway. And, truth be told, I prefer reading about Cathbad's many Druidic ceremonies over actually dancing around bonfires invoking blessings from whichever goddess or god he's honoring this time. But I love them all!The characters seem so real, you feel as if you've been invited to join in.The series is best read from Crossing Places in order. I guarantee you, if you read them, you'll find yourself waiting with bated breath for the next installment. I just got The Night Hawks, just finished it, and am already eager for the next book in the series. Too bad she hasn't written it yet... But this is one series I pre-order books the minute they post on Amazon. I've not been disappointed yet. Give them a go, you won't be either.
